Product Planner

For our international office in Barendrecht, we are looking for a fulltime Product Planner.

JOB OVERVIEW

Product planning is highly integral to the business requirements to achieve customer service at minimal costs. In this role you will be responsible for translating the business demand forecast into production orders, which optimizes production capacity and capability and meets customer service requirements. This involves all aspects of managing demand (forecast and orders) and supply and will require interface with manufacturing sites in the US as well as ongoing liaison with BLX operations, sales and business services. The supply chain responsibility extends to the procurement of all other products and services required by the company to satisfy its internal and external obligations. 

Your main responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following;

  • Optimize the planning tools to achieve required service levels whilst retaining controls of costs and inventory levels. Ensure ordering and availability of products at the relevant manufacturing facility to meet required service level delivery for customers
  • Control the order pool and ensure orders are released to the operations teams in a timely and accurate manner in order to create sufficient time to allow them to perform efficient and qualitative fulfilment and delivery
  • Ensure accurate processing and proactive monitoring of purchase orders to ensure products are delivered on time, investigating and communicating late delivery information to relevant people.
  • Work closely with S &OP planners to assist in the analysis and projection of customer demand and accuracy of the monthly tactical planning and production forecasting to a rolling 12-month outlook
  • Liaising with overseas manufacturing sites reviewing delivery schedules, identifying and resolving any issues as required
  • Participate in process improvement projects.  Develop and implement processes and tools to enhance the supply management process.

 

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • HBO/Bachelor level/or equivalent Education;
  • Excellent command of English language skills, both verbal and writing;
  • Sound knowledge of ERP software like Microsoft Dynamics AX, Exact or SAP
  •  Experience with working in a multinational environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and/or Access
  • Proven experience in inventory management
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Sound knowledge of Supply Chain Processes
